Our Programs

General Protection

Smilyvist stands with the communities and vulnerable people and continues to work with local communities to aid them throughout and beyond the war. Smilyvist Protection Programme aims to support the prevention and response to violence against Civilians. The targeted groups within this programme are men, women, boys and girls, focusing on the internally displaced in the local and host communities. Through our comprehensive response, we seek to ensure a rapid and coordinated response to the protection concerns stemming from the current conflict in Ukraine through the following:

 

  1. Advocacy intervention A collection of data at the national or local levels aimed at influencing decision-makers, stakeholders, and stakeholders with relevant audiences in Ukraine to address the protection needs and rights of affected populations.
  2. Assessments & protection monitoring, through regular engagement with affected communities through protection monitoring activities, including human rights violations, to provide a systematic and periodic collection, verification, and analysis of information over an extended period to identify violations of rights and protection risks for populations of concern to inform effective responses.
  3. Community-based protection and durable solutions through implementing a series of protection activities such as Community-based protection, Community Mobilization and Empowerment, Support to a community centre or community space and Community Outreach Volunteers.
  4.  Awareness raising & Information Dissemination include all types of information dissemination (information campaigns through different kinds of media, leaflets, billboards …) on violence against children (VAC) risks and GBV risks, prevention, referrals and availability of services, trafficking, Explosive Ordnance Risk Education, Mine Victim Assistance (MVA), HLP, Documentation (including birth and death registration), Registration, Social Benefits, Legal Assistance, entitlements, Child Protection, Disability, COVID-19).
  5.  Provision of targeted essential services and individual assistance (incl. cash), Provision of Protection Information/Counselling, Individual Protection Assistance (Cash), Individual Protection Assistance in kind, and individual case management for the case does not fit under CP and GBV criteria, like Elderly, PWDs and POC, Individual Psychosocial Support (specialised/non-specialised).
  6.  Capacity building and Institutional Support, including training, advocacy methodology, inclusion, integration and mainstreaming of protection, IHL, human rights, standards and humanitarian principles and IDPs Guiding principles.
